Red carpet at the Cannes Festival

The Cannes Film Festival has remained faithful to its founding vocation, which was to reveal and showcase quality works in order to promote the evolution of cinema and encourage the development of the film industry worldwide.

Alongside the official selection of the Festival (films in and out of competition), several sections have been created over the years. Among them are the Director's Fortnight, the Cinéfondation, the Critics' Week, Un certain regard, and above all the Marché du film de Cannes, the largest in the world, with 11,000 participants last year.
