A Girl Missing

A Girl Missing

Directed by Kôji Fukada

Trailer

A home care nurse is suspected of being an accomplice after the youngest daughter in the family she works for was abused.

Synopsis

Following his Un Certain Regard award-winning film HARMONIUM, Kôji Fukada returns with a tense portrait of a woman caught up in a spiral of defamation. Ichiko (Mariko Tsutsui - HARMONIUM) works as a domestic helper for a family. In addition to caring for the grandmother, she tutors the family's daughters and lends a sympathetic ear. Over time, she has almost become a member of the family. When one of the daughters disappears, Ichiko keeps quiet about her connection to the culprit. "A slow-burn drama expertly told which falls into place with exquisitely deployed skills. Tsutsui’s wide-ranging performance anchors every scene in this tentacular and well-cast venture. A deft and absorbing multi-pronged tale." (Screendaily)
