Sooner is a hybrid platform offering a SVOD service (subscription VOD) and a TVOD service (transaction VOD) dedicated to Belgian and European independent cinema. The platform has been operated in Belgium by UniversCiné Belgium since 2020 and is part of the Sooner platform's European network.
Le Meilleur du Cinéma (LMC) was founded in 2001 by a group of independent French producers and distributors. Since 2007, it has operated TVOD, and later SVOD services in France under the brand name UniversCine.
Pickbox d.o.o. was founded in 2014 as the SVOD service Pickbox NOW. It initially had a presence in Slovenia, Croatia, Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro and northern Macedonia and also launched in Bulgaria in 2021.
ContentScope, operators of the Sooner.de platform, is a Berlin-based joint venture between Paris-based Metropolitan Filmexport (MFE) and Berlin-based EYZ Media. ContentScope was created to meet the European market's growing demand for diverse, authentic quality films.
