Arno's contract with the petroleum company in the Sahara has come to an end. He returns to Europe. On his way to the port, he has engine trouble. He fails to get the car started again. Suddenly, as if in a mirage, he sees the rubble of an old palace. He stumbles toward it and meets all sorts of strange people. Slowly the palace disappears and he notices that his chariot has been repaired.
